Undoubtedly, one of the biggest challenges facing the MENA region today, similar to other regions across the globe, is affordable housing. Countries across the region are facing critical affordability pressures with the rising cost of housing, combined with stagnant wages, creating an affordable housing gap.
To address this issue, the MENA region’s governments and civil society sector have responded with a wide range of policies, programmes, and approaches to increase access to affordable and adequate housing among those who need it the most.
This plenary session will bring together housing experts from Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, and Tunisia to discuss the state of affordable housing in the region and efforts being made towards closing the housing gap.
