Sarah Ghanem

Sarah Ghanem is a qualified lawyer with more than twenty years of professional experience within both law and humanitarian sectors. She began a career in the humanitarian sector working for Norwegian Refugee Council, NRC, since 2006, including two years with UNRCO where she lead the interagency meetings, general coordination meetings and establishing sub working groups. Since 2012, she has been back at the NRC within the Information, Counseling and Legal Assistance program, ICLA. As one of the first recruited she was able to walk through establishing the Palestinian and Syrian Reponses and developing the program through creating the legal aid network, and legal case management tools, supporting ICLA lawyers’ and the drafting of legal factsheets and researches. She has provided several trainings and workshops for different audiences both in-country and at the regional levels. She has co-drafted many legal researches and briefs, including women’s HLP in Palestinian camps and gatherings published by NRC.Since 2016, she has been managing ICLA project in the South of Lebanon. Meanwhile, she was seconded to Iraq for three months to manage ICLA in Anbar. In addition to that, she has been acting ICLA Specialist for the last five months.
