Rena Abou Chawareb is currently an Urban Analyst at the UN-Habitat Lebanon Country Programme serving within the Urban Analysis and Policy Unit. She has contributed to multiple urban research and capacity development projects and the development of various urban reports. She has in-depth experience in multi-sectoral data collection and analysis, area-based approach, evidence-based planning and enhancing the efficiency of urban analysis methodologies. Rena is UN-Habitat Lebanon’s focal point in the UNSF Social Stability Core Group and interim representative of the Data and Statistics Working Group, among other coordination groups. Prior to that, Rena served as a United Nations Volunteer where she also supported in urban information management, data collection, analysis and mapping for different projects. Rena contributed to the development of Neighbourhood Profiles in 29 disadvantaged areas in Lebanon that won the 2022 Special Achievement for GIS Award. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the American University of Beirut.
