Ombretta Tempra is a Land Specialist at UN-Habitat and Global Land Tool Network, based in the UN-Habitat Regional Office for Arab States, in Cairo. Ombretta leads the Agency’s global portfolio on land and conflict and the regional work on housing, land and property rights. With a background on urban planning, land management and international development and over eighteen years of expertise in humanitarian and development operations, Ms Tempra coordinates the Arab Land Initiatives, manages programmes, and provides advisory on land issues to UN-Habitat and partners’ operations in North Africa, Middle East and globally. Ombretta’s technical fields of expertise include spatial planning, housing, land administration and tenure security, slum upgrading, coordination, partnership and capacity building. Her work is published in United Nations and universities’ press.
