Frank Nan

Frank NanFrank is currently working for VNG International as project Team Leader on ‘Improving sustainability in the WASH sector in Upper Egypt’. His experience is in governance and local development, citizens engagement in the implementation of local development and the cooperation process between local and central government on local development tasks.Frank worked for 25 years in The Netherlands for the Ministries of Finance, Social Affairs and Internal Affairs. Since 2007 he works as an independent expert and has worked with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), UNDP, UNICEF, Asian Development Bank and EU in the former Soviet republics, Balkans, Asia, Asia-Pacific and Africa. Frank considers it very important to understand the local social and cultural environment of the country or region he is working in. He feels that achieving sustainable results is best served when an understanding of the local environment is combined with best practices customized to the local circumstances. Since August 2020 Frank and his family live in Cairo.
